FAQ
Technologies
Overview
You are required to develop new Technologies in order to access new types of Buildings and Troops.
Construct the Research Center to begin researching new Technologies.
The more you upgrade the Research Center, the faster you complete research on new Technologies. Researching each Technology costs Uranium, Titanium and Credits. The more advanced Technology, the more expensive it is. The cost of upgrading a given Technology also becomes progressively more expensive with each higher level.
To complete Research instantly using Crystals click on the "Boost" button.
After a certain point you will find that you need to acquire a set number of Modules to unlock research on a specific new Technology. You will get a new Module from your Tech Advisor every day, but you must have all the Technology-specific Modules for a given Tech before you can initiate Research. (For example, if you have 3/6 Modules for Bose Gas and 5/8 for Ion Engines...you still can't research either one. You can trade with other players for specific Modules you need... so in this case Trade 3 of your Ion Engine Modules for 3 more Bose Gas Modules, then you can begin researching Bose Gas.)
If you research all Technologies that don't require Protocrystals, you will get a boost to your Uranium and Titanium production. Your boost will begin the day after you have researched all Technologies. Once a new Technology appears, your boost will be placed on hold until you research the new Technology; in which case the boost will begin once again.
Tech Tree
Construct the Research Center and you'll gain access to the Tech Tree.
It lets you view new Technologies to Research and plan your Sector's development. While in your Sector, click 'Technologies' on the right-hand panel to open Tech Tree.
You can drag the Tech Tree from right to left, zoom in and out using either your 'scale' control at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, or use your mouse's scroll wheel.
Click each Technology to find out:
- which buildings and Troops it provides access to;
- how many Modules you need to research it;
- what effect it will have on your Troops;
- how many upgrade levels are available for this Technology;
- how many Experience Points you get for researching it. Hover your mouse over the 'Research\Upgrade' button to find out how much it costs to research this Technology.
Modules
After a certain point you will find that you need to acquire a set number of Modules to unlock research on a specific new Technology.
You will get a new Module from your Tech Advisor every day, but you must have all the Technology-specific Modules for a given Tech before you can initiate Research. (For example, if you have 3/6 Modules for Bose Gas and 5/8 for Ion Engines...you still can't research either one. You can trade with other players for specific Modules you need...so in this case Trade 3 of your Ion Engine Modules for 3 more Bose Gas Modules, then you can begin researching Bose Gas.)
You can gift your friends Modules they need instead of Trading. Go to your Friend's Sector, click 'Actions' and choose 'Send Module' to send them a Module. You can also go to Map, find your Friend's Sector, and choose 'Send Module' on the drop-down menu. If you research Technology, exchange Modules or send them to your Friend as a gift they disappear from your Sector. It's a physical object - not a schematic. You will not retain a copy.
